In light of the pandemic, ASIS International will not conduct any in-person events until at least June 2021.
Meetings and 
professional development events hosted by the Omaha Heartland Chapter will be held online until then.
The annual GSX Conference planned for Atlanta has also transitioned to an online format.

Tom Metz, Cybersecurity, Mgr  Sr, Vice President, Bank of the West

Tom Metz is the manager of the Cyber intelligence Threat Analysis Center.  He and Scottie Spurlin work together to identify all possible threats to the bank, both Cyber and physical.  Prior to joining the bank in Nov of 2015 Tom worked in the FBI for 25 years. Tom received his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1989.

Scottie Spurlin is the Security & Emergency Operations Supervisor responsible for managing the Bank’s primary and alternate Security Operations Centers.  The Security Operations Centers provide 24/7 operations with the primary function of monitoring the Bank’s retail site alarm activations and police dispatch.  The operations centers coordinate daily with branch and administrative locations regarding security incidents, false and valid alarm activations, alarm and video system maintenance, quarterly alarm testing, and general physical security concerns.  Scottie has been with the Bank for eight years, prior to that he was in the US Air Force for 20 years where he served as a Security Forces Specialist and as Command and Control Superintendent. 

Parking: Limited number of visitor parking stalls in front of the building (south side, facing Dodge street); If necessary, there is a surface lot available on north side of building. From the surface lot, you can access the building, by going up the stairs in the middle of the courtyard and following the signs to the Visitor’s Entrance.
